LAFLEUR – (BOOSEY & HAWKES) WOODEN OBOE with CASE.

Here is a Lafleur wooden oboe.

It is in very good condition, no cracks, all pads and springs present.

BUT, the “fishtail” key which operates the 2 bottom notes is seized.

So the 2 bottom pads only close together, not separately.

So this is being sold as spares or repair.

It is gold stamped on the bell, “J.R.LAFLEUR & SON LTD – IMPORTED BY BOOSEY & HAWKES – LONDON”.

Here is an Howarth S20 cor anglais in very good used condition.

It comes complete with its original case, bocal and cleaning mops.

It is a standard thumbplate model, about 20 years old?

All pads are clean and present. All keys are working as they should. It may need some minor regulation attention.

Here is a Moeck Rondo tenor recorder.

It is in as new condition apart from some very minor marks on the middle section, NO tooth marks to the mouthpiece. In fact i would say it has never been played.

Here is a Rudall Rose Carte & Co piccolo circa 1858 – 1871. It is in very good condition considering its age. It will need a general overhaul – corking, pads, and there is one broken key spring.

On the head it is stamped ‘RUDALL ROSE CARTE & Co – LONDON’ with a crown symbol above. On the body ‘RUDALL ROSE CARTE & Co – 20 CHARING CROSS LONDON’.Overall length = 315mm, sounding length = 258mm. I believe it to be in the key of D, in standard modern pitch.

Here is a soprano Curtal, an early form of bassoon used mainly in renaissance music. Made of maple with brass fittings. It is in good condition, no chips or cracks, some wear to the finish around the bell. It is very well made and appears to be a ‘true’ example, rather than amateur made.

Length = 12″ (305mm). Weight 250g.

In all a rare to find instrument, in good condition.

BUESCHER SOPRANO TRUE TONE SAXOPHONE. ORIG. CASE & M/P.

Here is a Buescher soprano saxophone, serial # 217329, which dates it to 1927. It appears to be all original with its case and mouthpiece. It has the ‘true tone’ stamp and is low pitch. The mouthpiece is in good condition, no wear to the tip or rails, it has a very faint stamp, ‘THE BUESCHER – ELKHART – Bb’. The mouthpiece alone is a very rare for find for Buescher sopranos. It has a much shorter shank than standard m/p’s. The overall condition of the sax is good, no dents or bad scratches. The pads look like they have plenty of life left, and all have their reflectors.

THIS SAX WILL REQUIRE A FULL OVERHAUL.

Here is a vintage Berg Larsen metal alto saxophone mouthpiece.

It is in good usable condition. It has minor surface scratches.

The tip, rails and face are in good condition, there is tooth wear to the “bite” area.

It comes with a cap and a Rovner “3ML” ligature.

It is stamped, BERG LARSEN – 95 – 1 - SMS.

Here is a vintage Selmer soprano saxophone mouthpiece.

It is in very good usable condition.

The tip, rails and face are in good condition. There is no tooth wear.

It is stamped, S80 – HENRI SELMER PARIS – C*- MADE IN FRANCE.

There is no cap or ligature.

Here is a Boosey & Hawkes wooden Bb clarinet. It is a Regent model and is in good playing condition, no chips or cracks. All pads and corking are good. It has its original mouthpiece, ligature and cap. It comes in a new TKL lightweight case, current price £33.50.

Handmade by Dave Keddie, a good friend of mine who sadly passed away before completion. The set comprises of soprano, alto, tenor & baritone. There are pilot finger holes drilled for the tenor, unfortunately none in the other 3.
