A genuine & honest Gibson F4 mandolin, made almost certainly 1918. It has a white oval label, the type, model & serial # written in pencil. Serial # = 438207. There is an ink stamp inside on the top block with the factory order # 11065. The scratchplate has “PAT. MAR. 30.’09” stamped on it. The scratchplate holder/clamp has “PAT. JULY 4. 1911” stamped on it. It has its original, green velvet lined case which has a gold sticker on the back from Gould Studios, Minneapolis – who probably supplied the instrument new.
