ROCK CHIDLEY ENGLISH CONCERTINA C.1880.

48 metal button, rosewood ends, 5 fold bellows for restoration. The name plate on the end reads (partly worn) “***EY HOLLINGWORTH St, St JAMES Rd HOLLOWAY, ROCK CHIDLEY, MANUFACTURER, LONDON. 135 HIGH HOLBORN”.
The serial # 3968 is stamped the other end & on all internal pieces. This dates it to approx. 1880’s.
Rock Chidley was a small maker of concertinas, a former worker for Wheatstone.
Concertinas made by him are rare to find.
